Reading FC midfielder George Evans looks to have played his final game for the club.
The 23-year-old is wanted by League One side Sunderland and the two clubs have reportedly agreed a fee of around £250,000 for the player.
Evans is currently out in Austria with the Reading squad on their pre-season training camp having flown out on Sunday.
However, he is set for a swift return to the UK with the Black Cats looking to tie up a deal in the next 24 hours.
The Northern Echo says Evans has been granted permission to leave Reading and will fly up to Wearside on Monday evening.
Evans was signed by Brian McDermott from Manchester City in January 2016 but due to injuries was limited to just 48 starts in all competitions.
He made 23 appearances for Reading in the 2017/18 campaign, scoring two goals which were in successive games against Millwall and Birmingham City.

Reading manager Paul Clement has hinted there will be departures from the club ahead of the new season.
Speaking after Saturday's draw with Fulham, he said: "There is no news on players going out.
"Everyone is focused on working and doing their best for Reading and they will keep doing that until they are told otherwise or I am told otherwise.
"It is possible if we bring in a couple more players the squad will become quite large and it's normal because we have good players they will attract interest.
"So it is possible before the end of the window some players may move on permanently or on loan but we're not sure who that's going to be at the moment."
